Faces of Service: Emma

This month’s Faces of Service is Emma Twohill. Emma is one of the incredible IDEA Services members who is a part of the SVA Service Award.

“My name is Emma, and I live in North Canterbury. I like to spend time with friends and going dancing. I also enjoy arts and crafts and doing jigsaw puzzles. I am a great swimmer. I really love swimming. It makes me feel happy and free! I went flatting for the first time last year and I am enjoying the flatting lifestyle.

I volunteer at the St John’s Op Shop, participate in community clean ups and I am apart of the SVA Committee with Christchurch and North Canterbury IDEA services where we support each other and plan volunteering events. I enjoy chatting to people as I put the clothes on the racks, it’s always fun.

I joined [the SVA Service Award] because it’s a good thing to do, and volunteering helps others. I like being part of it. [Earning the SVA Service Award pins] makes me feel really happy and proud of what I’ve done. It’s nice to be recognised!”
