The WIS Warriors helped the Otamakaokao local community group clean up the local lagoon in Whakatane. The students painted fences, collected rubbish and debris from the water in kayaks, and helped set up traps for pests. We had a great day with good weather and huge achievements!

Our class project was a huge rubbish clean up. We walked from our school (Whakatane Intermediate) to the Wahakatane Heads, which is about 4.5km each way. We managed to pick up 20 large black rubbish bags!
