The students were inquiring into local and global responses to meet needs. They researched about the impact that service has on all stakeholders and issues that provoked action.
The SVA provided an amazing platform to be able to base their action on, and they jumped into researching and planning how they could help in their community. They worked in small groups to conduct a plan.
The following groups were created:
– Barely Beads – They created beaded work that they sold and donated the money to the local Salvation Army
– Colour your Lunch – This group made artworks promoting healthier eating and held workshops on how to serve and create healthy lunches at lunchtime. They also created a mini lunch ordering system where students could order a healthy lunch for $5. They just covered costs for this but wanted to promote healthier lunch eating choices.
