There were many ideas for what the students wanted to do for our community. The project we chose to do was to help our local LOVE SOUP in preparing lunches for schools who have a low decile or part of food in schools. This particular day, students went to visit Kathy Wheeler, who makes these lunches and soups out of her own home. The food is donated by the local Countdown Supermarket and other friendly donators.

The students were taken aback in learning that there are many who do not have lunches or have half of what they have. They decided that they would make lunches for a school in need.

This was a great learning opportunity for the students – that it is important to look beyond themselves and really think for the benefit of the people.
