St Peter Chanel Catholic School is very close the banks of the Waikato River and many of us also live in this area. We felt it was important to look after our ‘own backyard’ and look at the health of our river, which is hugely important to our region.

Our project was to do a river path clean up. We are also having speakers from Land Care come and share their experiences with us about similar projects they are running in our area.

We walked an hour up the river paths and back, looking for, and picking up any rubbish hiding in the bushes and shrubs. We also enjoyed some observational drawing and writing.
