ST PATRICK'S SCHOOL

St Patrick’s School (Invercargill)

Our class painted rocks with inspirational words and quotes. We then went to a park in our community and left these around trees for people to take or read.

The Room 5 Phoenixes visited our local rest home, where they sang a range of songs with the elderly residents to brighten their day.

This project was very powerful for everyone, and the children were on a real high and felt empowered by the experience.

It has taken us awhile as a class to come up with an idea that we all thought would be awesome. Our class eventually decided to support families in our community by growing vegetables.

The students have done some amazing learning around this topic. We are working alongside the Spirit Army, which helps needy families in our school community.

Although we are still in early stages, we are hoping that this is something that will continue throughout our school.
