RONGOTAI COLLEGE

Rongotai College

Our second annual Social Action Day saw our Year 9 students participate in several community projects. The most notable project in terms of media attention was the ‘Sharing is Caring’ project, which generated Xmas presents – especially for teenage boys. The gifts were donated by the school and wider community and then wrapped by boys before presenting them to the Salvation Army for distribution to needy families.

Three Year 9 classes had also been developing designs for both a fitness trail and a heritage trail through the walkways adjacent to the Rongotai grounds. These two projects were included in the Social Action Day options.

This second Social Action Day has proven to be really successful and enhances the significant work done by our students.
