We choose to combine our topic learning about the elections to provide a service to our school and community for the General Election. We helped parents with understanding the importance of voting and having their say and with how to enrol before election day. As our school was a polling booth we helped with set up and held our own General Election for the entire school, this took a whole day and truly showed them what it was like to provide and inform others of important matters that impact our lives. Children provided service to speakers of other languages by translating the election forms from English to Samoan & Tongan where needed too. They took their roles very seriously and showed powerful changes through all that they accomplished. They loved getting out into the community, providing guidance and helping others this term.
