We set up a project that would make Richmond Road School a better place, by transforming an old sandpit into a nice healthy veggie patch that everyone could use. It didn’t happen in one day, but we got there!
Ruma 12, their parents, and their teacher were all involved in making this project happen. The parents helped transport and transfer soil to the garden. Our local Mitre 10 donated us some soil. A café owner around the corner donated some coffee grounds to use as a fertilizer. Our Principal donated the rest to buy some compost and more soil, we didn’t quite have enough. We got the plants for free from the Little Garden at New World.
It was great to see everybody working together to make our project a success. We saw some great teamwork! Our school grounds now look much nicer and the food is on the way!
