We were inspired by the Student Volunteer Army make a difference project, my class did a Random Act of Kindess day.
They planned out what they wanted to do for their “RAK”, what they would need, how they would execute it and then reflected on these (how it made them/others feel, what they could do next time, would they continue doing RAKs etc).
Some kids baked and distributed cookies, some bombed the school with positive comments all around the school using chalk, some left positive notes around (staff room, library books, photocopier etc).
They also distributed Random Act of Kindness pay it forward cards and actions in the wider local community.
World Warriors from Red Beach School
My class organised a memorial assembly for the school and community for our Kaumatua.
Funds were raised to hang a photo of him in our school hall. They helped serve afternoon tea to guest and ensured that the service was beautiful.
Thank you for the opportunity to help make a difference
