My class used the School Kit to embark on a service idea of beautifying one of our walkways. We used native plants we had grown on as seedlings to plant along the banks of the Te Awa walkway. This was done in conjunction with Fonterra (who access the site for us) and Enviro schools (who provide the seedlings). My class then potted out over 200 native seedlings for use in two years time on another environment project in the Waikato. They have also established a garden where they are growing vegetables which will be given to Pukete school families. The class enjoyed the roles they had to take when planning what vegetables to plant, turns at potting the seedlings etc.
