Our project was a tree planting and pest eradication exercise out at Whareroa Farm, Paraparaumu, on the Kapiti Coast. The students spent three hours there learning about how and why pests are trapped, tree planting, and the importance of those two actions on the growing native bird life in the area. We finished the day with a bush walk back to camp.
Jan Nesbitt worked with a team of kids who organised the trip – including letters/permission slips home to parents, RAMS, quotes, and final booking of the buses.
