PAMAPURIA SCHOOL

Pamapuria School

Pamapuria School has felt very humbled over recent years by the generosity and support shown to our Kura, from our community.

On Wednesday 23rd Aug, our 2 senior Y5/6 and Y7/8 classes decided they would like to give back by way of service. We travelled to Tarakaka Cemetery and St Stephens Church in Pamapuria, courtesy of Petricevich Motors. Our service involved cleaning inside the church and mowing and removing weeds from the cemetery, plus developing our students’ knowledge of respect and tikanga. It also allowed our students to connect with their peers whanau who had passed on and to show compassion towards their life stories. In 2 hours, the tamariki had transformed the surroundings and everyone felt uplifted. We are grateful to have had this opportunity to contribute positively to our community and our students will remember this experience for many years to come.

We would like to thank the many parents who supported this day by supplying their mowers, weed eaters, petrol, their willing hands and keen supervisory eyes and also Petricevich Motors. Without your help and kindness, we may not have been able to do what we needed.
