Nature Club is a group of Ohau students who love nature. Our school has a small bush with many New Zealand flora and fauna, as well as some introduced species. The aim of Nature Club is to enjoy our environment while working to preserve it, and all the plant and wildlife in the bush and school grounds.
We have groups involved in different aspects of protecting the bush and promoting the native wildlife and vegetation. These projects include planting and weeding, Lizard lounges, Weta motels, swan plants, Puriri Moth attraction, documenting and categorizing the plant life, predation monitoring and control, restoring pathways, and identifying the birds by sight and call.
