This year New Zealand held a general election. As part of this our Student Volunteer Army, a group had met with the community and wanted to know what they thought about voting and what made a difference to them. They were stunned at the amount of people who were not going to vote because they were unsure of who to vote for. The students felt that if adults didn’t vote then their future would be effected, so they wanted to influence people that their vote counted.

The students created this video to do the job and posted it on our school website, Facebook page, and visited all of our local schools to encourage them to tell their parents to vote. They also showed local groups in our community to encourage them to get out and vote.
