Kawerau Putauaki School

Our SVA aim was to help establish our community garden which is run by the local council.

On day one of term three, our senior students went down to help plant the new fruit trees that arrived. In week five, a council member came to school with seedlings we had planted earlier for us to thin and replant. In week six, we went down to the community garden in the morning to thin and replant more seedlings. In the afternoon we helped apply mulch to the garden bed.

While that was going on, we were also busy in school painting tyres bright colours. We will be taking the tyres down to the community garden to plant potatoes.
