The SVA Grocery Service
Order groceries easily
SVA's started grocery delivery during COVID19 and continues to offer help to people needing access to food.
You can also email your list in to referrals@sva.org.nz
Phone, email and MSD grocery delivery

  • SVA's call centre is able to help you make a telephone grocery order. Call us on 09 801 212209 or  03 288 1494 or 0800 005 902 to request support in making an online grocery order. This service is free of charge and available nationwide.

  • If you have received a voucher from MSD for food support, you can order kai via SVA. We shop at PaknSave or New World and help you get the most of your food support. Please write a list in an email of the items you need (in priority order) and we will support you to find the best pricing and either arrange click and collect or delivery for you. 

  • If you live in a remote location with limited grocery delivery, we may be able to help. Please give us a call and we'll help you find options in your area or engage a volunteer to assist.

Write a shopping list

Think about the items that you need and write them on a list or in an email. Use THIS form to submit them to SVA or email them through to referrals@sva.org.nz

We search for the best price

We will contact you and help find the best priced options for what you are looking to purchase. We will use a range of suppliers depending on your location and seek to support you to make the most of your money.

We collect and deliver

We have individual volunteers who may collect your groceries from the store or we will use existing store operated picking/ packing and arrange for click and collect or delivery.

We arrange payment via credit card, bank transfer or MSD credit.
Paying for food can be a challenge. We have multiple payment options available and will work with you to find one that suits you.

FAQs
I don't have a credit card? 
We're happy for you to make a bank transfer to SVA and we'll use that money to make an order on your behalf. 
What does it cost? 
This is a free service designed to support those who need support.

Can I use it every week? 
Yes - you are welcome to use this service as much as you like.

Can I use an MSD payment card? 
You can use MSD funded vouchers but not your payment card. You need to ask to get your payment card funds transfered to SVA via the Care in the community - Welfare referral scheme. Your MSD case worker should be able to help with this if you qualify for this kind of referral. MSD case workers, if you have any trouble or have any questions you can email the internal MSD team at SVA_Queries@msd.govt.nz and they will be able to give more direction on what steps should be completed to make a referral to SVA and so on.

How does MSD refer you to us?
