We have been working on many projects based on the gnarly problems we identified around our school.
One group has been painting our drains to remind people that fish will be affected by what goes down the drains. Other groups have been planting natives and bee friendly plants around our school. Our final group is working on reducing the amount of plastic waste used around the school (litter-free lunches, soft plastic recycling etc).
Our parents are all reporting back that their children have turned into eco-warriors, which is great news to us, as it shows that the learning that is happening here is being taken home.
