Our community service theme was making connections in the community.
We went to a local kindergarten and performed a concert for them. We did the Haka, poi, boomwhackers, line dance, a hand clapping routine and some other songs . After we performed, we read some books to the children. When we were finished, we gave them the poi we had made for them.
The little children enjoyed getting to know some ‘big’ kids, though they were a little bit scared of the Haka!
When we got back to school, we had a shared lunch that our caterers had planned, organised, and prepared for us.
This is Room 11 Army from Burnside Primary School checking in for duty. We decided to tidy up and replant the vegetable gardens ready for spring. We had so much fun!
