This term, our school-wide inquiry learning is ‘Our Pacific Neighbour’. We studied each of the Pacific countries in groups and celebrated the Pacifika language weeks. In particular, we focused on the Tongan language week to complete our service learning in.

Along with the rest of the ‘whanau’ (four other classrooms), we planned Bake Sale and Sausage Sizzle to help raise money for a Tongan Early Childhood Centre in Onehunga, Fakatouato. Posters were designed by the students in our Igloo and presented to the children of the ECE. We raised over $850 and bought specific products that the ECE needed.
