We assisted Otumoetai Intermediate in tree planting a waste ground with native trees.

The children loved digging the holes and planting the trees, and are able to take family members to the area to show them what they have done. It allowed the children to study native trees and the birds that might come to those trees. It was a very successful project.

They also went, in conjunction with Tauranga Council, to clean up an estuary. This opened their eyes to the amount of rubbish that is dumped and the effect that it has on our environment.
