Kia Ora! At Bairds Mainfreight Primary we are still buzzing after hosting ‘Angel Week’ at our school last week. The children have been very busy brainstorming, researching, creating and actioning their plans.
We decided to make learning games for one of our junior classes. The kids had to think of good questions Then interview the teacher and kids. They then investigated different games they could make.
With a buddy they made the game and shared it with their buddy class teaching them how to do it. The kids made different number or alphabet games.
Each day for a week every staff member was treated with a surprise – a handmade card and crafts, inspirational quotes and yummy little treats. On Wednesday we hosted a special morning tea.
We created a banner and decorations, cooked the food, created a short movie which (included songs we had written and performed), and we had a student write and present a short speech.
We even had children providing live music. It was a truly beautiful experience which was greatly appreciated by our hardworking and dedicated staff.
The vibe in our school was so lovely. The children in were able to experience the joy of giving and their smiles said it all!
