Auckland SVA

Auckland Volunteering

We are the University of Auckland branch of the Student Volunteer Army to increase Auckland volunteering.

Since our launch in 2021, we have become a fully fledged club at the University of Auckland, partnering with Sustainable Coastlines, Everybody Eats, and the University to facilitate a range of volunteering events in Tamaki Makaurau.

The University of Auckland SVA team brings a diverse set of skills and backgrounds to each of our roles, and are united by a passion for volunteering and putting on great events.

Our Goal for
Auckland Volunteering

auckland-volunteering

The goal of our club is to run meaningful events which improve our communities, enrich the lives of our volunteers, and encourage more students to give back.  Our events aim to be fun, inclusive and impactful, giving students memories and skills they can bring to the rest of their lives.  As a new club in Auckland, we are seeking to build strong connections with other community groups and lay strong foundations for the future.

2022 plan to get
Auckland Volunteering

In 2022, we plan to continue our club’s mahi of providing a diverse range of events to students – from conservation and beach cleanup work to providing meals for those in need and mobilising students in the ongoing challenges of the pandemic.

We plan on running two camps during the year, facilitating regular platoon events, and organising our flagship event, UoA Vounteers Day, for a second time, in conjunction with a range of other organisations.
